The streets will come alive on Saturday, 30 November 2024, with twinkling Christmas lights, the roaring sounds of VW engines, and a whole lot of holiday cheer! This is your chance to show off your VW air-cooled, catch up with fellow VW enthusiasts, and enjoy a scenic drive through Cape Town. The event is perfect for anyone who appreciates classic VWs and a good night cruise. So whether you roll in a classic Beetle, a vintage Kombi, a cool Beach Buggy, a rare Karmann Ghia, awesome Trike, VW air-cooled or any unique, special, or out-of-the-box ride this event is for YOU.
This year, we’re excited to announce that Aircooled Dub Nation (ADN) is joining forces with us to make this run a bigger success than ever! Their presence will add even more festive spirit, drawing an even wider community of VW lovers and making this celebration truly unforgettable.

It’s not just a cruise—it’s a celebration of incredible cars, a chance to give back, and an opportunity to drive in style while lighting up the night! Bring your friends, family, and anyone who shares a love for VW air-cooled to enjoy a night of festive fun, classic cars, and great company.
This year, our charity focus is again on animal shelters. While it’s not mandatory, we encourage everyone to bring along a donation for animals in need—whether it’s a bag of dog or cat food, blankets, or a new collar. Every bit helps, and you can be part of a greater cause while having the time of your life!
How to Join: The Route & Stops
- 7:00 PM: Gather at Food Lovers Market N1 City for a quick meet-up. Show off your ride, catch up with fellow Old School VW enthusiasts, and get ready to roll.
- 7:30 PM: We leave for our scenic drive, cruising through the beautiful Cape Town coastline. With Christmas lights sparkling on our vehicles, we’ll head toward Camps Bay and then to Green Point.
- Green Point Park-Off (1 hour): Take a breather and enjoy the holiday vibe. Those who want to call it a night can stay at the Green Point park-off. Donations for animal rescue can be dropped off into the designated Buggies.
- Bloubergstrand Park-Off (Beachfront): For those ready to keep cruising, we’ll end the night with a second park-off at Bloubergstrand Beachfront, where the ocean breeze and stunning views will make for the perfect close to an unforgettable night in your VW air-cooled.
