Wiehann’s Run Photo Album: Coffee, Markets, and Coastal Cruises
Hooking up for air-cooled VW club runs is always about more than just the machinery; it is about the lekker gees, good food, and shared laughs along the open road.
Wiehann led the pack out from Bothasig for a proper Western Cape jol that took our convoy past coffee stops in Klapmuts, vibrant market stalls at Lourensford, and tasty treats at The Bacon Spot. Between swapping stories while waiting for ice cream at The Grille Shack and marveling at Hans and Neil showing off the newly finished Thunder Bug back in the garage, this photo gallery captures the heart and soul of our club culture. Grab a cuppa, scroll through the memories of our coastal cruise along Clarence Drive, and experience the camaraderie firsthand.
Bright and early at the starting line, because nobody wants to miss the first cup of coffee or the sound of engines warming up.A proper blue beauty parked in position and just waiting for the engines to fire up.Rango looking sharp and primed for action while parked up at the starting point.Proof that some beetles are built to handle a lot more than just a trip to the shops.Always great to see this cup of coffee. This red beauty is proof that the best way to travel the coast is with the top down and the engine air-cooledYou can always count on this pair to dive headfirst into an engine bay when someone needs a hand.Always appreciate having a knowledgeable mate around when someone needs to tinker under the engine lid.Proving once again that classic style and sleek curves turn heads wherever the club goes.Destination reached, and the search for coffee and treats officially begins.Just a quick roadside pause to check the lineup, let everyone catch up, and make sure nobody took a wrong little time before the engines call us back outside.Always time for a quick browse through the racks to see what catches the eye before hitting the road again. It is not every day you see this many made in the parking lot before anyone is allowed near the bacon.Finding the ultimate spot for a proper bite to eat in Strand means the hunger from the morning drive is about to be sorted.Getting everyone to actually leave the parking lot after a good stop is always a proper challenge when the conversation is this good.Bring the menu over quickly because the morning drive has worked up a proper appetite for everyone.More chats and cheers, but the important question remains: where is the waiter and when do we get our bacon.Chatting and sharing laughs while waiting for the food order is half the fun of any good stop along the road.Finding a venue where the atmosphere is welcoming and the food is top tier makes for an unbeatable lunch stop.Just a casual lekker chat between Anton and
