Camping and Beach Buggies<\/strong>\u2014is there a better combination? Our weekend at the Bergriver Resort<\/strong> was a total escape into nature. We swapped the sound of traffic for the sound of the river and the crackle of a braai fire. This gallery shows the campsite lined with our favorite VW air cooled<\/strong> builds and the VW Family<\/strong> enjoying a weekend of resting and chatting. These camps are the soul of the club. When I rolled into the Bergriver Resort camp, the place was already running like a well-oiled machine. Nick, Clive, and Thys were totally set up and already in camping mode. And yes, if you look closely, you’ll see they don’t exactly sleep under the stars! Three Motorhomes! Talk about travelling in comfort! It was clear these three were serious about their kuierspot time, ready to enjoy the weekend with their awesome beach buggies and old-school VWs parked right outside their luxury pads. Clearly, they’ve perfected the art of mixing VW classics with five-star sleeping arrangements. We had barely even started setting up our tents and they were already telling stories around a pretend fire.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Forget the roar of the air-cooled VWs\u2014this was the real event of the morning! We were getting ready to fire up the braai when a little traffic jam waddled right past the best VW kuierspot in the Cape. Look at this VW Family of the feather variety, a mother duck and her convoy of little ones, heading straight for the river. It just goes to show you what kind of natural beauty (and tiny pedestrians) we get to enjoy when the Wild Buggers set up camp.
